Create your first quiz

Build a quiz from a topic, paste, or PDF source — and have it ready for class in a few minutes.

A quiz is the smallest unit of classroom content in ClassPods. You can host one live, send it as homework, or turn it into flashcards. This page covers the fastest path from idea to ready-to-share.

Start a new quiz

Open the teacher dashboard and choose Create → Quiz. You have three starting points:

  • From a topic — type a topic and grade level. ClassPods drafts a quiz you can edit before saving.
  • From paste — paste a passage, vocabulary list, or notes. The quiz is generated against that source.
  • From a PDF or URL — upload a worksheet or paste a link. Useful when you want questions tied to a specific reading.

Edit before you publish

Every generated quiz lands in the editor first. Adjust question wording, swap answer choices, change difficulty, add or remove items. Nothing is shared until you save.

Pick a question mix

ClassPods supports multiple choice, true/false, type-in answers, drag-to-order, and polls. A mix usually plays better than a single type — students stay alert when the format keeps shifting.

Share it

When the quiz is ready, you have three options:

  • Host live — start a session and read out the PIN to your class.
  • Assign as homework — pick a due date and share the assignment link.
  • Send as practice — give students a self-paced version with flashcards.

You can do more than one. The same quiz can run live today and become homework next week without re-creating anything.

Tips

  • Keep quizzes short for the first run — eight to twelve questions reads well in a class period.
  • If a question feels off, edit it inline. The change applies everywhere the quiz is used.
  • Use the preview to see exactly what students will see, including the language toggle.
